Aussie Meat Pie

Ingredients:
1 onion - chopped
1 1/2 lb minced steak (or ground beef)
2 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups beef stock
1/2 cup tomato sauce
One pinch nutmeg
Seasoned salt to taste
12oz packet pie pastry - thawed
1 sheet ready rolled puff pastry - thawed

Place ground beef and onion in a frying pan and sauté' until browned. Stir in the flour to absorb the moisture. Add the beef stock, tomato sauce, nutmeg, and seasoned salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes. Set aside to cool.

Lightly grease a 9" deep pie dish and line with the pie pastry. Spoon in the cool filling, moisten the edges with water, and top with the puff pastry, pressing gently to seal. Trim and score the edges, brush the top lightly with a beaten egg and make a slight cut in the center of the pastry. Bake at 425°F for 10 minutes then reduce heat to 350°F and bake 30 minutes more.
